Cat Hill's™ Science Diet™ Adult Oral Care

My 2 cats have been fed Royal Canin Oral Sensitivity as recommended by our vet. Our cats enjoy it but I felt it was time for a change so I bought this. So far, so good. I've mixed it with the little bit of Royal Canin we currently have to avoid an abrupt change in their diet. Very happy to find the kibble is about the same size and that my "boys" are liking the chicken flavor of this food. Importantly, they have to chew it just like the Royal Canin which will help keep their teeth in good condition. Sugarfoot, 2 1/2, and Smokey, 1 1/2, have been on oral care food ever since we've had them. At their last vet visit, we were told their teeth are in pristine condition! This good kibble is worth every penny.

We mix this with some other cat food and they will dig through the food to find the Hill's Science pieces... so they obviously love this food quite a bit.Also, ever since we switched our cats to a combination of this food and oral fluoride in the water, neither one of them has had tooth problems. Contrast this to the fact that every time they went to the vet we were told the older cats' teeth weren't great, this is a huge, huge improvement.

I bought this food because I noticed that my cat had lots of tartar on her back teeth. I looked up the prices for a tooth cleaning and with anesthesia it was more than $500 per session! Sometimes when you own a pet you do have to make sacrifices like that, however first I wanted to try something else. So I found this food and decided to try it. What I can say is that my cat has been eating this food Mixtown about 1/3 of this food with 2/3 of her normal food. First of all she eats these big crunchy pieces for so I think she likes them more. Second of all I just checked her back teeth after about 34 months of eating this food and the tartar in the back is literally completely gone. I am so impressed with us! It’s saved me so much money on a tooth cleaning! I will be buying this for more and mixing it in regularly with my cats food!!

My Bengal cat Cosmo was diagnosed with pancreatitis and very early stage kidney disease once tested.. He was not eating and I was so worried! I took him to a Cat Vet who specializes in cats. She put him on prednisone and told me to stop feeding him treats. He loves his treats and looked forward to them so I told the vet this. She said the treats were the worst thing I could give him. She had me introduce a new dry food to use as treats. What brilliance! He absolutely loves the Hill's Adult Oral Care Chicken! I now use this all the time as his treats and my cat can have as many treats as often as he wants.It is a win win! He was down to 10.2 lbs and is now 12 lbs and feeling so much better!! LOVE this product!! My cat is happy and so am I!!

Cheaper alternative to Hills T/D Rx diet. My vet recently gave me a big sample of T/D because my cat has tarter issues. She loved the food and it seemed to help but buying the Rx version is very expensive. I discovered that Hills also makes this consumer version which is much cheaper and it's pretty similar. This is one of the few VOHC Accepted Products to clean plaque and tarter and the only non Rx product that can do so. It works because the food is very big and forces your cat to chew it. When I compare this version to the Rx version it seems like the consumer kibble size isn't as big as the Rx version, but still seems to do the job. I was surprised my cat likes it so much. When I mixed the food to slowly get her used to it she would just pick out the Oral Care Chicken pieces and leave her old food.
