All 5 of my cats love Hill's dry cat food and gobble it up! The only issue I've had is 2 of my cats tire of the same flavor so I switch formulas for a few days and then go back to this 11+ age formula. My most aged cat no longer has teeth, and although her veterinarian said to feed her canned food only, she prefers Hill's dry food and the nuggets are so small, she has no issue gumming them down! (Accompanying photographs show the size compared to a penny. The nugget below the penny is on its side so you can see the width.) One of my cats began chemo and canned food is healthier for cats with cancer, but since she loves loves loves dry food, I give her 8-10 pieces of Hill's 11+ dry food (soaked in water for less than 1 minute) instead of treats. She thinks that's terrific! NOTE: This product review is altruistic in hope it helps other cat lovers... no money or goods have ever been offered or received.

Mr. Cuddles wasn't keeping his food down. A trip to the vet, $200 and one long-acting antibiotic injection later and he still wasn't keeping his food down. He's about 17 now and I tried several cat food formulas (small bags and borrowing from friends, including two other Science Diet options). Some worked better than others, and the 'Age Defying' looked promising. It took nearly half a bag of this recipe for him to gradually keep his food down and to gain a few ounces. I'm retired and feed him small, frequent meals, sometimes two or three hours apart. He still has a few small episodes over a 24-hour period, but these are infrequent (several months apart) and he's eating well, his coat is shining, and his buddy (me) has been using this for maybe (bad memory) the past year. There are been no vet visits for the past two years. It's wonderful having him around and I'd like to keep buying this for a long time.

I echo the reviews from cat owners of older cats. My cat is 21 yrs old and is really starting to show her age. She sleeps 22 hrs a day, has some arthritis in the hips, her teeth are soft and if she was human she would have dentures! So at this age in her life my goal is to keep her happy and know she is loved. So one way I can do this let her eat what she wants and to this end her food must be easy to chew, and have moisture (as water is required to keep an aged cat from getting further kidney issues). This food provides that. I leave a bowl of this out for her to nibble on when she wants and I know she is getting nutrition. So if you are the proud owner of an older feline - go for this food. The slight additional cost is all worth it!
