Our indoor 14 year old cat ate Science Diet Hairball control for years. About six months ago he started eating a lot less of it, but did not seem sick so we tried the regular 11+ before taking him to the vet. He liked it and was back to eating again. About a month ago he did get sick and stopped eating. The vet gave us the advise to feed him anything including baby food, treats etc, to get him eating to keep something in his stomach until he recovers.I was then watching closely what he ate and how much. As he recovered and started eating 11+ again I saw how hard it was to eat those very small pellets in any quantity. He picked one up with his tongue, then had to work it back in his mouth to swallow it. Looked like a lot of work expanded to swallow a small piece of food. Then I noticed the pellet size of the 11+ Indoor cat on a bag. They looked similar in size and shape to the Hairball control he used to eat that were a good bit larger than the regular 11+. I ordered a bag of Indoor 11+ and he still loves that size pellet. I started by mixing regular 11+ and Indoor 11+ and soon found he was much preferred the larger Indoor size.Per a couple reviews, perhaps they are too much for cats with bad teeth, but if your cats teeth are cared for and kept in good shape this is a great option. I think our cat likes the crunch and has zero problems biting into them.

My cat loves dry food in general, but she has taken to this one very well. The bag has a Velcro top closure, which is something I’ve never seen before but this was my first time buying Science Diet. She’s about 12 and it had been difficult to control her weight because she would scarf down dry food too quickly in the past. Now I mix a bit of this with Science Diet 11+ senior wet food and her weight is much better now, therefore she’s back to playing and running around like when she was younger.

So my main issues with my three cats have been:Cat 1: picky eater. She nearly starved herself to death when I tried to take her off fancy feast last time. She was all skin and bones within 2 months and I finally gave in.Cat 2: my oldest, and way overweight. Always eating. I HAD to get her on a senior food with lower fat content!Cat 3: always throwing up. For years. So sick of cat puke. Every time he eats he pukes.I was amazed that the first time i filled their bowl with this new food (I didn’t follow the transition instructions), ALL THREE cats swarmed the bowl and began happily eating! Even my picky eater who refused anything but fancy feast for the past 10 years!!!What’s more, Sir Pukes-a-Lot (as we call him) has only thrown up once in the past week. I call that a win!I can’t speak for my overweight cat yet; I’m not expecting any miracles, but I do feel better feeding her this than their old food. I’m glad the #1 ingredient is chicken.

My 12 year old cat has been throwing up every time he eats for the past 10 years. I don't know how he's managed to keep a decent weight. He's had x-rays, blood work, and stool analysis. Nothing. The next step would be a scope exam and possibly surgery, depending upon what the scope would show. I can't afford that. I've tried five premium cat foods, all wet food and all dry food, feeding in very small amounts, withholding food for hours; nothing made a difference...until I started him on Hill's Science Diet Senior Indoor Cat Food a week ago. Would you believe it? He hasn't vomited once in the week he's been on the new food! After 10 years?? ! I don't know what this food has or doesn't have, but I know it's made life better for my cat and me. I have 2 others, one of which is his litter mate, and the other a 15 year old. They love this food...talk about eager eaters :)Update: Too good to be true. Lizzie still barfs, I think because he eats like a vacuum cleaner. In any case. This update is because I recently tried another, cheaper, brand since Hill's didn't really solve the problem. HOWever, right away I noticed that my cats are producing larger, stinkier stools. I'm going back to Hill's.

I acquired a chubby 12-year old cat who I put on a diet and she lost 2 pounds which is enough. So I stopped giving her the weight loss food and started on others. All had some kind of problem --- one actually made her eat too much and too fast. But this one is perfect. She gets fed 3x a day in the allotted amount. Eat and seems to like it but doesn't eat everything all at once. Leaves some for later. She seems happy. I'm happy because she's not eating so fast or much that she's throwing up. She likes it; just eats it properly (whatever that means in a cat and her food). Well, cats are different so this may not be true for all cats but I finally found the right food for mine. Also, Hills Science Diet is good nutritional food based on what I've read and heard.
